About Us

What is DevHubOne?

DevHubOne was founded in 2022 as a non-profit foundation whose primary mission is to create a sustainable concept and a specialized hub for free training (for students), self-learning, and knowledge sharing in the field of video game and application development (VR, AR, PC, mobile). The idea stems from Vasil Anastasov’s teaching at Sofia’s 51st Secondary School “Elisaveta Bagryana,” which was an initial step toward providing free training to students for game and application development with Unity.

What is our goal?

The goal of DevHubOne is to provide equal opportunities to every student (8th–12th grade) who shows interest in the video game and application industry, regardless of their social status and the technical equipment they have at home. The foundation strives for students to build a quality portfolio that will enable them to develop their careers more easily—while still in school, working on real projects and presenting them in a timely manner to potential employers or partners. The motto “Before the startup” reflects the belief that the foundation of any future startup begins with personal development and the early inclusion of young talents in real cases and collaboration with professionals. In the long term, DevHubOne aims to establish itself as a leading hub for creation, training, and support of young developers in Bulgaria, providing them with access to the necessary technologies, mentorship, and community support.

What is our community?

The DevHubOne community includes beginner and advanced students, 2D/3D artists, programmers, game designers, story writers, mentors, teachers, and representatives from companies in the game industry. Interaction between the different roles takes place through regular events—workshops, GameJams, hackathons—as well as activities on Discord, which encourage collaboration and the exchange of best practices in a real environment. Through strategic partnerships with key individuals and companies in the industry, opportunities are created to organize joint lectures, seminars, and internships, which further strengthen the connection between academic circles and the industry. In 2024, the concept of DevHubOne Guild was created—a gamified system inspired by the RPG genre, which introduces levels, achievements, and collaborative mechanics through which community members develop their skills and unlock new opportunities.

Who is DevHubOne for?

DevHubOne is open to everyone who is interested in developing video games and applications (VR, AR, PC, mobile), regardless of their experience or technical level. Special attention is given to students over 14 years old who want to realize their potential in the game industry and create their own portfolio while still in high school. For advanced developers seeking specific knowledge or partnerships, DevHubOne offers the opportunity to collaborate with mentors and young students participating in paid projects that finance the foundation’s activities. Every year, over 200 students take advantage of free courses and resources, and even more specialists join the community as mentors or consultants, contributing to the dynamic development of DevHubOne members.

Purpose

The main purpose of the hub is to offer both free and paid courses in the development of VR/AR, mobile, and computer applications and games. All students have free access to professional equipment and software (Unity3D), as well as the opportunity to participate in events related to development and training in the field of virtual and augmented reality. The hub also serves as a space for implementing personal projects—from the initial idea to the final presentation in front of an audience—giving students the opportunity to gain practical experience and build their portfolio. Activities in the hub are organized for learners over 14 years old, with various formats offered: regular courses, intensive workshops, individual and group mentoring sessions.
